SERVICES
Our primary modality at Rewild is what we call “undomesticated” therapy, a term coined by Kimberly Rose, where we partner with animals and nature to provide a wilder version of therapy than traditional in-office work. We incorporate this undomesticated therapy into a trauma-focused framework, making our work a unique experiential trauma therapy modality.
Our focus is being in contact, which defined by Kimberly Rose and Duey Freeman, is
”a moment of present, attuned meeting of another at the physical, emotional, energetic and/or spiritual boundary space,” allowing our clients to heal IN relationship.
While we don’t ONLY work with women, we specialize in women’s development and helping women find wholeness.
Outside of the four walls of traditional talk therapy, we meet with people for walks in the park, animal assisted work at the farm partnering with horses, or at the office with Buddy , Lincoln, or Maia, our therapy dogs.
Our laid back style of yoga pants and hiking shoes often help put our clients at ease and feel less like a “medical model” or treatment of a “disorder” or illness. We believe people are naturally whole and healthy, and sometimes need a little reminder of who they truly are at their core.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)
Erin is trained in Equilateral EMDR, an equine specific model of EMDR, and infuses nature and equines into this evidence based therapy modality for the treatment of PTSD.
Rewilding Trauma Therapy
The team at Rewild focuses on trauma informed and evidenced based therapy modalities (including EMDR) interwoven with nature based and animal assisted practices. Equine assisted EMDR, as well as nature based practices focused on polyvagal theory principals are the focus of the work.
Training and Consultation
Erin provides training and consultation, as well as group and individual supervision to clinicians wanting to incorporate more trauma informed animal assisted and nature based practices into their work.
Group Therapy
Group therapy can be a wonderful complement to individual therapy for people looking for support, connection, or basic skills related to communication. It can also be utilized as a stand alone therapy, and can often help with access if individual sessions are not realistic for you due to price or scheduling availability issues.
If it is determined that your needs would be better served elsewhere after a consultation or intake, we will provide referrals to other local therapists and resources. Rewild is not appropriate for emergency care or for clients who may require 24-hour supervision or immediate access to service.
